Literacy is a major focus at C.W. Sears School and the learning commons is, quite literally, the center of our school. We are very proud of the variety of fiction, non-fiction and graphic literature available to our students, that is constantly being updated and added to.
Each class enjoys weekly library periods where they have scheduled opportunities to sign out books. Our library is always accessible for readers and as an alternate work environment.
CW Sears is equipped with four Chrome Book carts for student and class use. Chrome Book use is governed by BRSD's acceptable use policy.
There are currently 15 SMART boards installed at C.W. Sears School which means every classroom is equipped with one.
Teachers at C.W. Sears continually explore new ways to engage and accommodate students in their learning. A wide range of software, web-based programs and devices are utilized by students every day. We currently have 10 iPads and continue to learn how to utilize this tool in the classroom.
